We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Camera Assistant to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting camera operations for film, television, or digital media productions, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for visual storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Camera Setup and Maintenance: Assist in setting up and maintaining camera equipment, including cameras, lenses, tripods, and other accessories, ensuring everything is in proper working order.
- Lens and Filter Management: Handle and change lenses and filters as needed during shoots, ensuring they are clean and properly stored.
- Focus Pulling: Assist the camera operator by pulling focus during shots, ensuring sharp and accurate focus throughout the scene.
- Slate and Clapperboard Operation: Operate the slate and clapperboard to mark scenes and takes, ensuring accurate synchronization of audio and video.
- Cable Management: Manage and organize cables to ensure a safe and efficient working environment on set.
- Assist with Lighting and Grip: Support the lighting and grip departments as needed, helping to set up and adjust lighting equipment and other rigging.
- Equipment Inventory: Keep an inventory of camera equipment and accessories, ensuring all items are accounted for and properly maintained.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the director of photography, camera operators, and other crew members to ensure smooth and efficient camera operations.
Requirements
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Cinematography, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of camera equipment, lenses, and accessories, as well as basic knowledge of lighting and grip equipment.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in focus pulling, equipment setup, and maintenance.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting and carrying heavy equipment, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the camera department and other crew members.
- Time Management: Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
